About Us

Next Take Entertainment is an independent entertainment company based in Lincoln, Nebraska, focused on live music, original events, and creating experiences people actually want to be part of.

It started with a few friends and an idea.

In 2019, a group of Lincoln high school students came together to create Checkerfest, a music festival built around the artists and music they cared about. What started as a small event has grown into an annual festival featuring artists from around the state, multiple stages, and hundreds of fans.

Since then, the team behind Checkerfest has continued producing live events and working with artists, venues, and creatives throughout Nebraska. We've produced 10+ events of our own while continuing to grow what Next Take can be beyond a single festival.

Checkerfest was the first take. Next Take is what comes next.

Our goal is to expand the perception of what live music and local shows can be in Nebraska. We believe a great show is about more than what's happening on stage. We promise to give artists the experience they deserve and create memories for the audience that go beyond a normal night out. From production and presentation to the way people discover, experience, and remember a show, we care about every detail that goes into making an event special.
